Daycare and school search
The daycare search package consists of:

Applying for a daycare voucher

Searching for daycare in your area using “kita-navigator.berlin” and/or registering with the daycare counselling centre at your youth welfare office (“Jugendamt”)

Entry on the waiting lists

Personal support and a list of up to 3 daycare centres

Arranging appointments and joint visits to a maximum of 2 daycare centres

Help with registering at the daycare centres (collecting the necessary documents and signing the contract)

In addition, accompaniment to the daycare centre can be offered for the first appointment with a teacher or educator or for the first adjustment form

Arranging appointments and joint visits to schools

In addition, depending on your needs, we can offer to accompany you to parent-teacher conferences at the beginning of and during the school year.

Integration for the family
Search for a German course:​

Search for a German course/integration course that matches your level, is close to where you live or work, and meets your criteria. Suggestions for 2 or 3 schools.

Help with registration and placement tests at the selected school.

Membership in clubs, sports clubs:

Search for a club near your home or workplace. Suggestions for 2 or 3 clubs/associations

Help with registering for the selected club/association.

I suggest putting you in touch with binational networks of associations (English-German for example)

so that you can gradually familiarize yourself with German culture, language, and customs

Birth certificate – Acknowledgment of paternity – Custody – Naming
Applying for a birth certificate:

A person's birth is proven by a birth certificate.
-
You can apply for a birth certificate to be issued on the basis of the birth registration at the relevant registry office.

Multilingual/international birth certificate. An international birth certificate is a multilingual birth certificate that you can also apply for.

Recognition of paternity:

Are you about to become a father or have you already become one? Congratulations.

As the father, you will certainly want to be listed on your child's birth certificate.

Custody:

Notarization of the exercise of joint custody

Parents have the option of declaring their intention to exercise joint custody of their child.

Application for child benefit
Child benefit is paid from birth. In Germany, the basic needs of children must be guaranteed.
You can apply for child benefit if:
-
Your child is under 18 years of age (under certain conditions, you can also apply for and receive child benefit for children of full age, e.g. if the child is still in education),
-
you regularly care for your child and they live in your household (this also applies to stepchildren, grandchildren, or foster children) and
-
you are resident in Germany, another EU country, Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland, or Switzerland.

You will receive €255 in child benefit per month per child. As a rule, you are only entitled to child benefit for children who meet the requirements.

Filling out the child benefit application.

You will receive a notification or “Bescheid” or a letter in case a document is missing. I will check it with you and help you answer the letter.

Application for parental allowance
Parental allowance is intended to enable parents to care for and raise their children. Parental allowance replaces part of their income during the period in which they are caring for their child
Parental allowance can be applied for at the earliest from the date of birth and retroactively for a maximum of three months prior to the application. Parents can choose between basic parental allowance and parental allowance plus, or a combination of both.
